My name is Tim and I am not an artist. Or a writer. Or anything remotely close to qualifying me to write a web comic, and yet here I am.
I am a programmer, and a recent graduate of the University of Michigan through the College of Engineering. I have taken exactly one art class and zero creative writing courses. However, I have read or am reading a ridiculous number of web comics (see my links page for suggestions) and a good number of fantasy novels. I fence with the Society for Creative Anachronisms, so I have some idea how swords/combat are likely to behave than in movies. I have a few years of Pathfinder under my belt, though minimal GMing experience. Will observation make up for lack of instruction? That remains to be seen.
Oh wait, I probably should be trying NOT to scare away potential readers... Come back! It is going to be awesome... I hope...
In all seriousness, though, this is an idea that has been bouncing around in my head for a few years. The concepts of how the world works, what magic can do, what it can't, how everything that is happening in the world fits... THAT is why I am writing this. I am a CSE geek first and foremost. I have built my world from the perspective of an engineer. Now I want to show it to you through my story.
Things will be shaky at first. Things may not be explained in an order you would expect. Please bear with me as I get my feet on the floor. And most of all, I hope you enjoy it. Please comment with suggestions and conjectures! I would love to discuss my work... just be aware of a few things.
Thank you, and enjoy the comic!
